Print Obituary & Condolences

I am very sorry to hear of Bob’s passing.I remember Bob when taking music lessons at Don Randall’s store. He was always encouraging to young musicians. Later I had the privilege of performing with him on playing jobs. Bob was the consummate musician and was a fine drummer. A gentleman always,a good friend and a respected musician. He will be missed.
I was Bob’s ‘country cousin’. Although we weren’t in contact in recent years, I always enjoyed his antics when we
were together. He was a clown at heart. Our sincere sympathies to his family.
He was the only grandfather I ever knew…such fond memories of visits to he and grandma’s house for holiday gatherings…his elaborate train set in the basement and of course, his drums…and he always called me “Angie baby”. Only wish we hadn’t lost touch over the years (since my grandmother passed away). Love you, Grandpa Lyter!
I was a student of Mr. Lyter in the 70′s. He was a true professional ! It’s amazing the number of drummer’s he touched and passed on his knowledge to over the years. I put much of it to use in my playing today.
My condolences to the family.
Respectfully,
Craig
Many years ago my parent, Harry & Pauline Yeager used to take us up to Bob 7 Jane’s house on front street in Lititz. After all these years, I remember those times fondly-Bob had a way of just making it right. I am so sorry he passed.
